10 Desert Island cd's

What 10 cd's can't you live without?? This would be my list, although it could slightly change from time to time.

In no particular order:

1) The Beatles- The White Album (the only Beatles album I really enjoy)

2) Queen- Queen 2 (could be my favorite album by my favorite band)

3) Queen- A Night At The Opera

4) Jimi Hendrix Experience- Electric Ladyland ("Burning Of The Midnight Lamp" is my fav. Hendrix tune)

5) The Runaways- The Runaways ("Cherry Bomb" is still my fav. Runaways song)

6) The Runaways- Queens Of Noise

7) Fleetwood Mac- Tusk (I love every song on this release except the single "Tusk")

8) Barbra Streisand- Greatest Hits Volume 2 (she is one of the greatest singers ever)

9) Ani Difranco- Puddle Dive (basically anything by this artist would be fine with me)

10) Cano- Eclipse (a wonderful, underrated Canadian band)

My gosh, for me this is a nearly impossible question. My musical tastes change so much and I am always thirsting for new.
I am going to try to answer this with some of my old favorites. But it may/will change without any notice...LOL

1) Humble Pie - Rockin' the Fillmore - I loved this lp, The rough voice of the late Steve Marriott and the guitar playing of a young Peter Frampton

2) Ramones - Leave Home

3) Richard Hell & Voidoids - Blank Generation - Mot a bad song on the whole LP

4) Miles Davis -Shades of Blue - a great album for a Lazy Morning

5) The Archies - Greatest Hits - pop hits that I grew up on and still love

6)Johnny Cash - Anything - Johnny is one of the most influenstial musicans around, I love his old stuff cause I grew up on it, I loved his newer stuff (Hurt will bring tears to my eyes every time). R.I.P.

7)Fleetwood Mac - English Rose - what a phenomonal band, With 3 great guitar players, Green, Spencer, and Kirwin. featuring the song Albatross.

8)Loretta Lynn - Van Leer Rose - this cd prodused by Jack white, just proves what a talent this 70 year old icon is. Great lyrics from Loretta, hard edged retro music by Jack, another cd without a bad song.

9)The Clash - London Calling- a personal favorite cd that I can listen to over & over

10)Donna Summers - Greatest Hits - I love her voice and the emotion that she puts into her songs


Now tomorrow my list might be COMPLETLY different [img]wink.gif[/img]

The Clash's "London Calling" is a wonderful album. Definitely their masterpiece!!!

Most of the disc in my truck is a lot of old contries and old rock. I have to try to do this from memory.

Bad Company- Bad Company
Johnny Cash-American recording 1
Josh Turner-Long black Train
Kris Kristofferson- greatest hits

It is getting late and I can't think of the other disc I have in my case

Pink Floyd - The Wall

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours

Boney M - The Christmas Album (just in case - lol)

These are just the top of my head. None of these are set in stone - haha!

Well I like some of your choices, But I hate to admit that I am not familiar with a couple bands you mentioned, Enigma, Modern talking, And Bony M.
I have heard of Smokie, But Don't think I have heard anything by them.

I can see that you enjoy all kinds of music. I'm sure you can find a tune or two or three that you might like by them groups that you don't know. Smokie is cool and yes, I'm sure you heard the lead singer before; Chris Norman. That "Stumblin' In" song he did with Suzi is not much different from their sound. Check em all out. Enjoy!

Actually I have often wondered why they called it Desert Island Disc, and not Stranded in a car for a very long trip with only 10 discs.
